I had to share this email I received from one of our Trainers & his thoughts about far western Queensland in a rural township.
Hi everyone, thanks to … this is the ………….. pub where I am spending my 57th birthday. There is nobody behind the bar because you have to ring a bell for service. The lady who works here also runs the take away next door so she runs between buildings. Population 100 whoops 101 because I am in town. There are three people in the pub and they have bet that I cannot eat the reef and beef meal I have ordered, the steak is hanging over the edge of the plate onto the table cloth both sides! A bloke just came in and wanted a carton but they refused to sell it to him as they only have one carton left. They said it would not be fair on the locals so he paid $20 for a six pack instead. They are all watching me now, one person said I am just stalling the inevitable and should admit defeat. One said I am a w..ker and said I should put that thing down(the blackberry), I kid you not, the cook is also watching, she said I will be washing up if I don’t finish it! There goes the bar maid, must be someone in the take away, they must be lost! I simply cannot eat this meal and will be leaving soon for my “donger” which is out the back of the council chambers. Its a bit scary out here in the middle of nowhere, one and a half hours to the next town north, two hours to the next town. south. I should be safe although the policeman’s house does have a sign out the front………. Back sometime soon! Has anyone seen that movie…….. Wolf Creek?
Regards, ….
